OUT OF THE WOODS PRODUCTIONS is the magical brainchild of director/writer Heidi Sjursen and cinematographer/editor Jeffrey Abell. Through 20 years of collaboration, they have produced and shot network commercials, social media and web content, branding materials, promotional, educational, and music videos, and short-form narrative and documentary films that have debuted in the festival circuit. Committed storytellers, their unique point of view incorporates colorful art direction, creative sound design, and a broad sense of humor to tell deeply human stories. They have worked with a wide variety of independent and corporate brands that span the retail, technology, music, and event spectrum. The list of corporate clients has included Landrover, Random House, New York Post, New York Fringe Festival, Mountain Jam Music Festival, and the Aid and International Development Forum in Washington, D.C. Conceived and launched in Brooklyn, NY, Out of the Woods presently operates in Woodstock, NY. They are currently working on a feature-length documentary about the iconic show THE MAGIC GARDEN and its impact on Generation X and more.
